The 'Baby Contest' has a rich history with Trout Creek Fall Fair! Over the years, it has been changed it to “Showing Off Your Baby”. Parents answer a few questions within the form so we can share with the audience and there are prizes for everyone!
Larry Gauthier was the first baby winner of the show and as a proud member of the community he also ended up being the President of the Agriculture Society for many years as an adult. The baby show was a judged contest with nurses and there was a first, second and third.
One of our current Board members recalls her experience having entered her son in 1983. "The nurses asked lots of questions, such as can he walk, can he eat on his own, how much does he weigh, does he talk, etc. They tested his motor skills, complexion, it was more less taking him to the doctor’s office, without the doctor. The prize was a ribbon, and 5 silver dollars."
**We'd love to have pictures of babies to showcase on this page, if you have some from past years and wouldn't mind having them here, please send them to [email protected]
